When you let your guard down
When you let your guard down features selected images in an ongoing collection by artist Nina Coulson, consisting of a series of poor-image screenshots of Facebook and Instagram AI Alt-Text indicators, generated and temporarily visible during random interface image outages
During harvesting, the artist has an unknown timespan to document before the interface becomes fully visible again. Collected by screenshot, each work in the series was never really meant to be seen by the user let alone recorded, taking the hidden processes of AI image and Face recognition through liquid states from being intentionally invisible/hidden, to becoming mistakenly fleetingly visible, finally settling into a permanent visibility via its documentation and redistribution as art works
